Program 02
Clinic-in-a-Box
A portable clinic a nurse can carry on the back of a motorbike, turning a family’s living room into a place where a child can be properly assessed and treated.
Why it matters
Care no longer depends on whether a family can afford the bus fare to a hospital, or carry a child who is in too much pain to be moved.

A portable clinic a nurse can carry on the back of a motorbike, turning a family’s living room into a place where a child can be properly assessed and treated.
Who it is for
Children living with life-limiting illness whose families cannot easily reach or afford ongoing specialist care. Referrals come from hospitals, community clinics and health workers who know the family.
What it costs a family
Nothing. Every visit, every dressing and every dose of pain medication provided through this program is free. It is funded entirely by donations.
How it works
From referral to ongoing care.
Four stages, repeated for every child in the program.
-
Step 1
Packed
Assessment tools, dressings, oral medications and record forms are packed into a single sealed case.
-
Step 2
Carried
The kit travels with the nurse — by motorbike, on foot through narrow alleys, or by public transport.
-
Step 3
Opened
In the home, the kit becomes a working clinic: examination, wound care, medication and teaching in one visit.
-
Step 4
Restocked
Supplies are logged and replenished at base, so the next family receives the same standard of care.

Medication, transport and a nurse’s time are the three costs behind every visit. Your gift covers all three.
