Nurses & doctors
Support home visits, training delivery or clinical review. Requires current registration and safeguarding clearance.
Volunteer
Rachel House runs on the time people give it. There is a role here whether you have a nursing degree, a spare Saturday or a laptop and good Bahasa.
Why volunteer?
Our nurses spend their days in people’s homes. Everything that keeps that possible — supplies packed, events run, grants written, stories told — is often done by volunteers.
You will not be making coffee. Volunteers at Rachel House take on real work with real deadlines, because that is what the organisation actually needs. In return you get proper induction, a named contact, and an honest account of what your hours changed.

Volunteer benefits
An orientation to palliative care, safeguarding and confidentiality before you start.
Someone in the team who knows your name, your schedule and what you are working on.
A written record of your hours and responsibilities, and a reference on request.
We tell you what changed because of the work you did — not a generic thank-you note.
Fundraise for us
Birthdays, weddings, marathons, school drives, office challenges — any of them can become funding for a nurse’s route.
Tell us what you are planning and we will send you a fundraising pack: our story in your words, photographs cleared for public use, suggested amounts and a way for people to give directly.
Application
We read every application and reply, whether or not there is a role available right now.
Volunteer FAQ
No. Many roles — events, administration, translation, design, fundraising — need no clinical training at all. Roles involving direct contact with children and families do require relevant qualifications and a screening process.
It depends on the role. Some volunteers help at a single event; others commit to a regular day each week. Tell us your availability in the form and we will match you to something realistic.
Yes, for remote roles such as translation, research, grant writing and design. [Replace with the current policy on international volunteers.]
